Well, it finally happened, winter arrived.  Marley woke up one morning, singing “..do you want to build a snowman.” As she rolled over in her bed and peeked out the window, she realized why she was singing that song.

The world was covered in white, and what a beautiful sight. She hopped out of bed and threw on her winter gear and flew out the door. “It’s like heaven is a place on earth,” she thought.

The whole world was silent, as beautiful crystals fell from the heavens and covered every branch on every tree. “Maybe I was afraid before, but I’m not afraid anymore,” sang Marley as she realized she would make it through the winter just fine. Her tree was still full of berries that were being preserved by the winter chill. She hadn’t seen Pat The Cat or Donald lately but knew they would be back again someday.  It felt like she was the only person in the world at that moment.

As she steeped her morning tea, in her shack covered with snow, she heard a sound off in the distance.  As it got closer she realized the world was alive with the sound of a kid on the street outside. She stepped outside and saw someone spinning like the stars above.

“Howdy,” called Marley.  “Hey there,” replied the newcomer. He stopped what he was doing to look up and find where the voice had come from.  He was delighted to see a friendly face. If only he could get up on that tree branch to visit this new friend. “Can you lift me up with the wave of love?” asked the energetic creature.

“That would be nice,” replied Marley. “They say in heaven love comes first, but that would take an extreme energy burst.  I better just come down.”

She made her way to the ground with a cup of tea for her visitor. “I noticed you had some swift moves as you were dancing down the street, can you teach me?” she inquired.

“Sure! It’s called the floss, it’s easy, just follow me in slow motion.”  They repeated the steps over and over until they had it down.  Marley had a hard time keeping up with the lightning speed of the dancing bear, but she did her best. As she danced she realized that in this world we are just beginning to understand the miracle of living.

Like skaters on a frozen pond, they danced through the empty streets. As the night fell down, Marley realized it was time to part from her new friend and go back home. “I’ll wait for you to come around,” she said. “By the way, I never got your name.”

“It’s Dave. My friends call me Dancing Dave. It was great meeting you Marley. Thanks for making me realize that we can make heaven a place on earth,” he noted as he danced off into the night.

“Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!” she shouted back.
