Caterpillar Day

It's a little cold out for caterpillars, but it was requested. All you need is some old paper, tape, scissors and something that makes beautiful colors

i.e. crayons, markers, paint....

This past summer we went caterpillar hunting a couple times and found some really cool ones in the garden, and a very interestingly hairy one at the park. Next summer I hope to learn a lot more about the different kinds so that we can identify them when we come across them.

Since it is cold now and they are all hibernating or have turned into their graceful extension and flown south for the year, we found a Caterpillar song to sing while making this guy.

Books:

"Animal Habitats" ~ Judy Press

While your making this critter, you can make some decorations for the tree !!

{If it's that time of year}

Swallowtail

This is the guy that was living in the garden this past summer. He loves parsley, fennel, dill, carrots. The butterfly looks beautiful, unfortunately we never spotted the winged version of him. Hope to see more next summer.
