FireFLy

The sun has gone to bed and the stars are in the sky

Let's head outside my dear

And catch ourselves a firefly

They are actually not a fly at all you see

But instead come from the Beatle family

These sure are some hot July evenings

That's the only time they're found

Don't look up to high my friend

They like to linger near the ground

I almost caught one!!!

But then it got away

I get the feeling they have been waiting

For us to come out and play

They have the most efficient light we know

For it gives off no heat with its glow

Some will synchronize their flashing light

And give a dazzling show tonight

The female lays her eggs near the ground

Or just under the dirt they might be

They hatch and hibernate all winter

Some will stay under the bark of a tree

Some eat nectar and pollen

While some prey on larva and slugs

Their light warns others away

So they don’t fall prey to other bugs

Thanks for lighting up our world little firefly

Every year around the fourth of July

Rainy Day Art Display

Need a way to get rid of that bleached and enriched flour sitting in your pantry?

Turn it into ART!

I couldn't give up a cup of Himalayan salt, so we threw some corn starch in there to see what happened. The masterpiece will not last forever, but the process was fun.

Book:

** This is an awesome book with MANY great ideas.

Thanks Aunt Sharon ;-)
