Cardinal

We are well into the winter season, and cardinals come to mind. Their bright red feathers amongst the white winter snow. What a great combination to bring us a little color and happiness in the middle of winter.

(Here in Wisconsin)

We were looking for something to make, easy, with red paper.

Why not a Cardinal!!

They are beautiful

Simple craft

Fun to learn about

The cardinals turn their food into energy to stay warm through the winter.

Books:

"Bird Talk" is a great book about all the different bird communication with each other. The noises they make and what they are telling their chicks, friends, predators. It also talks about the body language they use. Loved this book!

Snow flakes make great accompaniment.

We go to a story time at a nature center in our area, and they have the neatest wall clock there. It chimes the hours with bird calls. We were able to play with it one day and thought it would make a great gift idea.

If you like birds.

Happy Bird Watching

Have fun with Pointillism. We watched an episode of a neat show called "Creative Galaxy", and it was about "Pointillism". So we made a landscape using dots that blend together so your eye sees a berry tree and a cardinal. Way to cool!
