Professional Puppetry~ Roo Style

The past couple of months have been filled with making stuffed animals talk, upon request from a wonderful 3 year old. So when hanging at the used book sale, at the library downtown, and the book "Puppet Play" came into view, I knew it was a keeper.

Perfect timing because February in Wisconsin this year is COLD. So a puppet a day keeps the winter blues away. More like one a week.

This a great way to introduce sewing to your child, even a 3 year old can do it! Drawing the pattern out and deciding on colors and design gives them confidence, and teaches them to use their imagination. Create a new friend with a great personality.

Marsupials!

What an interesting and ADORABLE animal!

The more I get to know these creatures, the more I wish I had one in my back yard to hug every day. Don't you just want to hug them!?

Kangaroos are mammals that give birth to babies that are too young. So as soon as they are born they must wriggle and climb through their mother's fur to the safety of her pouch. In the pouch they have a personal milking parlor. There it lives for up to 9 months until it is big enough to venture on its own.

As soon as the "Joey" leaves the pouch the mother licks it clean and gets it ready for a new "Joey".

There are more than 40 kinds of kangaroos, and they all live in Australia or New Guinea. (There goes my dream of having my very own kangaroo). Over the years they have been brought to other areas of the world.

They bounce along the outback at about 13 mph. Living in large groups called "mobs" they graze on grass, leaves and shrubs, moving along to find new food.

Some types of kangaroos live in trees and are very secretive. You can search for years and not find one.

Check out those huge tails! Their large tails help them balance while sitting and hopping.

These are incredible animals. Learn more about them and fall in love.
