Nature Walks

Get up and get out into the woods. Or wherever makes you feel peaceful. I always like to have some sort of water;
a lake, pond or stream.
A "Babbling Brook".

Even in the city we have found many parks with a large area of nature scenery. There are also lots of nature centers, if you search on line you can find them.
Spring is a great time to be in the woods. Everything is fresh and new. The birds are happy to have beautiful weather, and sing a constant song.

Look for unusual trees, mushrooms, animals.
Find all those tiny wildflowers that have bloomed by themselves and sit patiently waiting for their friends to appear.

If it is a rainy or cold day you could set up a nature walk around the house. Use stuffed animals or pictures of animals. Keep a log or journal and record the animals you see, and write down the time. This will introduce time to your child and help learn how to read a clock.

EGGS?

We recently went on a Monarch Larva Survey and learned about their eggs, and the stages of caterpillars.
This however does not look anything like the butterfly's egg.
HMM
? What could it be?
Strawberry?

We found these covering the ground at a park we like to go to.
They remind me of strawberries.
We did not try them.
I did a little research and all I found was a wild "Mock" strawberry. ?
They don't look exact though, so I am not confident that is what they are.
the mock strawberry is edible and the leaves are used for eczema.
They have yellow flowers and originate from Asia.
