ICE CREAM !
You have no idea the reaction I get when I say I don't want my child eating ice cream.
(which he does all the time)
This is one of those fairytale dreams I had as a mother, that I've just had to give into to save an argument. I've never liked to keep the stuff in the house, just like Oreos, because it calls to you and eventually you give in. So 'leave it at the store' is my motto.
Although my research on dairy plays a big part in this feeling, not to mention all that sugar, there can be a lot of added stuff to the tub of ice cream you grab out of the grocery store freezer. I have found a brand at Aldi with the ingredient list of only Cream, sugar and vanilla.
But even better!!
We experimented with making our own!
It was DELICIOUSE
and I felt great eating it.
You could have it for breakfast!
Ingredients:
Coconut Milk
(Look for Coconut and water as the only ingredients.)
Raw Honey
Fruit
Blend them all together and freeze.
This is good half frozen, all the way frozen, or not frozen at all.
(It is very hard when all the way frozen, so you will need to take it out a while before you want to eat it.)
It is amazing with warm homemade toasted oats !!!!
{Oats, Butter or coconut oil, Maple syrup. Toast the oats with butter/oil in pan for a couple minutes, then turn off heat and add some maple syrup.}
